Good Design that's not Sublime

So why?

  • They are different from the "normal"
  • Save the tree, we lose so many trees during construction that you can actually build around them
  • The give off oxygen and help nature improve
  • They are eyecatchers, which is great for businesses

Sketch of how a tree produces better air quality in buildings

Having a tree in the house or above the house reduces air pollution and provides us with oxygen. While I was in Highpoint I noticed a tree with a building around it and then it got me thinking on how beneficial it is to have nature in general built into or around houses.

  1. Sydney, I also love the look of trees inside the home. It is a great way to improve the air quality of your home, and you save a tree! You're right: it is different than normal. It catches our eyes whenever we see it. Great design should do this. Great post!

  2. I am a sucker for natural furnishings! I love the look of furniture that has been barely messed with to make a beautiful piece. I had no idea that trees were good for the inside of the home. Makes me want to get a bonsai!

  3. The vibrance of nature is unmatchable. There is so many positives to adding nature to designs and that's part of the reason why I love trying to incorporate it into my designs. Plus building around trees as a center and focal point for rooms is such a great idea.
